On January 1, 2024, Søren Skou, a proven industry expert with international logistics experience, took over from Dr. Alexander Granderath, who chaired the advisory board until September 30, 2023.
VTG GmbH would like to thank Dr. Granderath for his dedicated support of the company and is very proud to present Søren Skou, one of the most renowned business managers in the European transport and logistics industry, as his successor. Skou has held various leadership positions in the Maersk Group worldwide since 1983. He was part of the Executive Board of A.P. Moller-Maersk from 2007, before heading the company as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) from 2016 to 2022. During his tenure as CEO of Maersk, Skou led a massive transformation of Maersk from being a diversified conglomerate to being an integrated, digitized and customer centric global logistics company.
In his role as Chairman of the VTG Advisory Board, he will be a valuable advisor to the shareholders and Executive Board of VTG GmbH in the future. Skou says: “I look forward to being part of VTG’s exciting growth journey and to working closely with CEO Alberto Nobis and his impressive team. Growing rail freight transport in Europe is an important lever to decarbonize our economy over the next decades.”
