Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Jürgen Hüllen (*1950, Hambergen)

Mr. Jürgen Hüllen, CTO, is responsible for technology and production of the Wagon Hire segment and he is also responsible for the Rail Logistics Division. He also holds several mandates at other domestic and foreign subsidiaries and joint ventures of the VTG Group. Mr. Hüllen is Chairman of the Private Wagon Association VPI - Vereinigung der Privatgüterwagen-Interessenten (Association of Private Wagon Stakeholders), the German member association of the UIP (European private railcar federation). Mr. Hüllen began to study business administration in 1972 at the College of Economics (Hochschule für Wirtschaft) in Bremen, and later at the University of Hamburg. In February 1980, Mr. Hüllen joined VTG Vereinigte Tanklager und Transportmittel GmbH. After initial responsibilities in controlling as well as finance and accounting, he took over the management of the Executive Office in 1983. By 1985 he had moved over to the operations side of the business, initially as manager of the Wagon Hire Division. From 1999, Mr. Hüllen was Division Manager Rail at VTG-Lehnkering AG, responsible for technology, procurement and technical services and the management of the Rail Logistic activities (Transpetrol Group) as well as Workshops Business Units. He was also overseeing the investment in rail4chem. In May 2004, Mr. Hüllen was appointed to the Executive Board of VTG Group.
