Open Freight Cars
With its know-how from the traditional rail tank car business, VTG Group is increasingly entering new markets and new wagon segments, with the focus on freight cars.
These vehicles include (selection):
Wagons of UIC type “F”
Wagons of the UIC type “F” are open, self-unloading wagons and are deployed particularly for transporting large volumes of moisture-insensitive bulk cargo such as coal, coke, sand and scrap metal.
Wagons of UIC type “E”
These type “E” wagons (open wagons of standard design) have an open, box-shaped load area as well as a steel bottom and steel walls. They are suitable for carrying a very wide range of loose bulk cargoes (e.g. coal, stones, scrap), as well as bales or round timber.
VTG also possesses covered bulk freight cars of the UIC type “T”. The wagons for gravity discharge are equipped with dump or controlled-discharge devices and can thus be emptied into an underground hopper on the side and in the middle of the rail or on to conveyor belts. These systems are particularly suitable for rapid discharge.
