From a dual study program to a world of opportunities

After completing his business and sports-focused high school diploma, Paul did not want to leave the technical side behind completely. Alongside school, he had already worked in a car repair workshop and on a farm. A dual study program in Industrial Engineering was the perfect fit, and he first learned about VTG through the list of partner companies at Nordakademie Elmshorn. What convinced him were the positive impression he gained during the interviews and the prompt feedback throughout the recruitment process.

From October 2014 to March 2018, he completed his dual study program at VTG. Around nine months before graduating, an open position became available in one of his training departments, an opportunity he seized immediately.

A journey through many different worlds

What Paul particularly values about VTG is its diversity. During his time with the company, he has worked across numerous areas, ranging from Customer Service & Technology and Energy Management to Internal Audits. As part of quality management certifications, he traveled internationally, including to Russia, China, Japan, Greece, Lithuania, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Hungary. His experience also included Lean Management in a French workshop, as well as responsibilities in Data Protection, Information Security, and Global Risk Management.

It is precisely this international network and his deep understanding of the process chain across the various VTG business units that continue to benefit him in his day-to-day work.

What remains

For Paul, it was above all the opportunity to get to know many different areas and great colleagues during his dual study program that encouraged him to stay with VTG after graduation, together with the interesting career opportunities available within the company.
