Successful partnership continued: New contract between AO Transmash and VTG Rail Russia

VTG Rail Russia (OOO “VTG”), a Russian subsidiary of the leading wagon hire and rail logistics company VTG Aktiengesellschaft, has signed a new contract for the supply of 250 platforms (model 13-9744-06) intended for the transportation of containers and tank containers with AO “Transmash” (“Transportnoye Mashinostroyeniye”). The first platforms are joining fleet of VTG Rail Russia in the fourth quarter of 2021, and the final batch of wagons will be delivered early 2022.

Cooperation of Transmash and VTG Rail Russia started in 2019. During this time VTG Rail Russia has acquired 439 platforms from Transmash, including pocketwagons that are new and innovative for the Russian rail market. Platforms 13-9744-06 offer ideal loading capacity of max. 73 t and are optimized for high-capacity containers and tank containers up to 36 t tare weight. Tie down devices and additional fitting stops on the wagon frame-work accommodate tank containers on the central part of the platform. Service life of the wagons is 32 years.
