Stelios Archontakis (42) is joining the management team at VTG Rail Logistics Hellas EPE (VTG’s Greek operating company) with immediate effect. In this capacity, he will serve as Managing Director alongside Zoltán Potvorszki, Head of Region South Eastern Europe VTG Rail Logistics. “I am pleased to be able to welcome such an experienced manager as Mr. Archontakis to VTG,” says Günther J. Ferk, Head of VTG Rail Logistics Europe. “He has known the rail industry for many years, and his knowledge of the market will help our Greek organization move forward into the next phase of growth and development.”
Stelios Archontakis has over 20 years’ experience in the shipping industry, during which time he has acquired in-depth expertise in areas such as multimodal transportation. He has filled leading positions at several major corporations, most recently as Head of Multimodal Solutions South East Europe at Schenker & Co. AG. In his new role at VTG, Archontakis, a business administration graduate, will focus primarily on advancing business development in Southeast Europe.
